Silicon Valley Life Coach
You've optimized everything except yourself.
Your career, your skills, your habits — all iterated, all improved. But something still feels off. The way you shrink in certain rooms. The way you say yes when you mean no. The way success keeps arriving without the satisfaction you expected.
These aren't personality flaws. They're patterns, formed early, running quietly in the background, shaping every decision you make at work and at home.
I know the rooms you sit in
I spent years in Silicon Valley engineering rooms. Deadlines, performance reviews, the relentless pressure to deliver. I worked at Lucid Motors and watched smart, driven people hit the same invisible walls over and over. Not because they lacked talent. Because the patterns they learned early in life were running the show.
That's what I do now. I help Silicon Valley professionals recognize those patterns and change them. I also coach strangers on the street — over 250 conversations at farmers markets and outside Whole Foods, hearing what's actually on people's minds here.
Who I work with
Engineers, product managers, and engineering managers who are good at their jobs and stuck in their lives. People who've read the books, done the work, and still feel like they're circling the same problems.
If you've built a career in tech and feel like something fundamental needs to shift — not your strategy, but you — this is the work.
I keep my client roster small. A handful of people at a time, because this work doesn't scale.
Why a coach who lived it
I'm not an outside observer. I lived the culture. I know what it costs to perform at that level and what gets left behind. I transitioned out of engineering not because I failed at it, but because I found work that actually moves people. Including me.
I'm based in Menlo Park, trained through the Co-Active Training Institute, and I've coached professionals from Google, Meta, Tesla, and Stanford.

Questions people ask
What happens in the free call?
Thirty minutes, no script, no pitch. You tell me what's going on, I tell you what pattern I hear, and we both decide whether working together makes sense. If it doesn't, you'll still leave with something useful.
Do we meet in person or online?
Both. In person in Menlo Park and Palo Alto, online everywhere else. About half my clients I've never met in person and it works just as well.
Do I need to work in tech?
No. But that's who mostly finds me. I'm Steffen Moessner, a life coach based in Menlo Park, California, working with professionals across Silicon Valley — from Palo Alto to San Jose, in person or online. The patterns are the same everywhere. Tech just has a particular way of rewarding them until they break you.

I had a few really insightful conversations with Steffen about how childhood and education influence us later in life. It highlighted how much we, as parents, shape our kids by the example we set. He brings clarity in a very natural way.

Steffen helped me think about how to pursue a meaningful career, how to be both valuable and irreplaceable in the workplace, and when it makes sense to plan an exit. We also explored the deeper question of finding meaning in life.
